Summer is here and in full force - and with summer comes two of our favorite seasons: wedding season and festival season! While Coachella has come and gone and Bonnaroo just wrapped up, there's still a whole lot more festival fashion to be seen all the way through August and September. Prime wedding season goes strong through September and October too, and floral crowns have taken the lead for most desired headpiece.
While you can grab a pre-made flower crown on most fashion retail websites and Etsy, it's also super easy to make your own custom flower crown that fits your event and look perfectly. Building your own flower crown is actually really simple and cost effective - perfect for brides and festival goers on a budget!

Supplies:
- Flowers (fresh or fake) trimmed down to 3" stems
- 2 pieces of floral wire
- Green floral tape
- Scissors

Directions:
- Make the base of the flower crown out of two pieces of green floral wire. Bend and mold each piece of the floral wire into a half circle (see photo below). Face the half circles toward each other to create a full circle - lay the pieces over the top of your head to check the fit. Wrap both overlapping sections tightly with floral tape to create you full circle base.

- Create small clusters of different flowers. This avoids having to attach each flower individually and overloading the crown with tape. Pick a flower and continue adding them, each one nestled right below the other. Tightly wrap the base with floral tape.

- Once you’ve made 10-15 clusters, start adding them to the base. Position a cluster of flowers against the outside of the wire base and wrap tightly with floral tape. Overlap the second cluster over the first and wrap tightly with tape. Continue layering clusters in the same direction until the entire base is filled.

- You're all done! Enjoy your flower crown!
